Interest rate cut from the European Central Bank
The European Central Bank (ECB) reduced its three key policy rates by 25 basis points in line with market expectations.
The ECB lowered its main interest rate from 2.75% to 2.5%. This marks the sixth interest rate cut in the last seven meetings.
The ECB raised its inflation forecast for 2025 from 2.1% to 2.3%. The Bank kept its 2026 inflation forecast at 1.9% and reduced its 2027 inflation forecast from 2.1% to 2.0%.
