Interbank Card Center Reveals Card Spending Data

According to the data from the Interbank Card Center, card purchases totaling 28 billion TL were made on April 2nd. Between 00.00 and 17.00 on Wednesday, April 2nd, the transaction amount was 28 billion TL, while on Wednesday, March 26th it was 28.9 billion, on Wednesday, March 19th it was 25.3 billion, on Wednesday, March 12th it was 24.5 billion, and on Wednesday, March 5th it was 27.3 billion TL. The figures indicate that above-average shopping was done on Wednesdays in March. This increase is said to be a result of the holiday effect.

According to the Interbank Card Center (BKM) data, on April 2nd, more transactions were made compared to the last day of the holiday on April 1st, and the transactions on the same date were above the average amount between March 3-22. According to BKM data, the shopping amount that was 14 billion TL on April 1st increased to 28 billion TL on April 2nd.

BANKS TO REPORT WITHIN 5 DAYS Nationwide, approximately 55% of all card transaction volumes pass through the BKM, while transactions processed in banks’ own systems are shared with the BKM by the relevant banks within 5 days.

According to the shared data, the daily shopping transaction amount was 28 billion TL on April 2nd, and 14 billion TL on April 1st. When comparing Wednesday to the previous Wednesday, the transaction amount between 00.00 and 17.00 on April 2nd was 28 billion TL, while on March 26th it was 28.9 billion TL, on March 19th it was 25.3 billion TL, on March 12th it was 24.5 billion TL, and on March 5th it was 27.3 billion TL. Thus, on April 2nd, more revenue was generated compared to other Wednesdays in March except for the Wednesday before the holiday.
