Inspection at Thousands of Workplaces: 920 Million Lira Fine Imposed

Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, disclosed that 920 million lira in fines were imposed during workplace inspections in 2024. Minister Işıkhan shared the outcomes of the inspections and audits conducted at workplaces in 2024. In a statement on his social media account, Minister Işıkhan noted: “We carry out our inspection and audit duties at workplaces with precision. In 2024, we conducted inspection activities with 900 labor inspectors through our Guidance and Inspection Directorate. We reached 2 million employees in over 12 thousand workplaces. We ensured the payment of 1.8 billion lira in workers’ receivables and 710 million lira in public receivables. We imposed 920 million lira in administrative fines on workplaces that did not rectify non-compliances with regulations. We made the decision to halt operations at 179 workplaces to prevent life-threatening situations for employees.”
