Inflation in the US came in below expectations

Annual inflation in the US came in below expectations at 2.4% in March. Consumer prices also declined for the first time since May 2020 on a monthly basis.
There was a positive signal from the inflation data shadowed by trade wars in the US.
The annual inflation in the country was announced below expectations at 2.4% in March. The annual inflation, which decreased for the second consecutive month, fell to its lowest level since September. Expectations were that annual inflation would drop to 2.5%. Inflation also decreased by 0.1% on a monthly basis. Inflation on a monthly basis saw a negative trend for the first time since May 2020. While energy prices declined by 3.3%, food prices saw a 3% increase. Inflation was reported at 2.8% in February.
US President Donald Trump’s expectations that customs duties would lead to an increase in inflation and economic slowdown had strengthened.
