Industrial production in the Euro Area increased

In the Euro Area, industrial production rose by 1.1 percent in February compared to the previous month. The European Statistics Office (Eurostat) released the seasonally adjusted industrial production data for the European Union (EU) and the Euro Area for February. According to the report, industrial production in the Euro Area increased by 1.1 percent in February compared to January and by 1.2 percent compared to the same period last year. Industrial production in the EU increased by 1 percent on a monthly basis and by 0.6 percent on an annual basis in February. Among EU countries, the highest monthly increase in industrial production in February was recorded in Ireland at 10.8 percent, Belgium at 7.4 percent, and Luxembourg at 6.3 percent. The largest decreases were seen in Croatia at 3.9 percent, Greece at 3.6 percent, and Romania at 2.1 percent. The highest annual increase in industrial production was reported in Ireland at 38.8 percent, Lithuania at 9.1 percent, and Luxembourg at 6.6 percent. The largest declines were in Hungary at 8 percent, Bulgaria at 4.7 percent, and Germany at 3.7 percent.
