Increase of 4.5 billion dollars in Central Bank reserves

The total reserves of the Central Bank increased by 4.5 billion dollars last week, reaching 169 billion 915 million dollars. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced its weekly money and banking statistics. As of March 7, the Central Bank’s gross foreign exchange reserves rose by 3 billion 45 million dollars to 97 billion 802 million dollars. The gross foreign exchange reserves were at 94 billion 757 million dollars on February 28. During this period, gold reserves also increased by 1 billion 454 million dollars, rising from 70 billion 659 million dollars to 72 billion 113 million dollars. Thus, the total reserves of the Central Bank increased by 4 billion 498 million dollars from 165 billion 417 million dollars to 169 billion 915 million dollars in the week of March 7 compared to the previous week.
