Increase in exports in 42 provinces

The Ministry of Trade reported that in January, exports over 1 billion dollars were realized in 4 provinces compared to the same month last year, with export growth in 42 provinces. The Ministry of Trade released export data by activity provinces for the month of January. Istanbul ranked the highest in exports last month with 4 billion 854 million dollars. The city’s exports increased by 12.7% compared to the same month last year. Following Istanbul, Kocaeli with 2 billion 655 million dollars and an 8.5% increase, and Izmir with 2 billion 9 million dollars and a 2.5% rise. The chapter of precious or semi-precious stones ranked first in Istanbul’s exports with 1 billion 211 million 583 thousand dollars. This category was followed by 448 million 915 thousand dollars of knitted apparel and accessories, and 425 million 994 thousand dollars of boilers, machinery. The sector with the highest foreign sales in Kocaeli was motor land vehicles with 1 billion 24 million 85 thousand dollars. This was followed by 241 million 672 thousand dollars of mineral fuels, mineral oils, and 197 million 219 thousand dollars of electric machines and devices. Mineral fuels, mineral oils ranked first in Izmir’s exports with 589 million 560 thousand dollars. COUNTRIES WITH THE MOST EXPORTS Istanbul’s top export destination was the United Arab Emirates with 587 million 909 thousand dollars. This was followed by Germany with 354 million 909 thousand dollars and the US with 349 million 405 thousand dollars. Kocaeli exported the most to Germany with 259 million 792 thousand dollars. Following Germany were the UK with 249 million 741 thousand dollars and Slovenia with 193 million 945 thousand dollars. The top export destination for Izmir was Germany with 183 million 185 thousand dollars. The US followed with 168 million 889 thousand dollars, and Slovenia with 111 million 653 thousand dollars. Consequently, 4 provinces exported over 1 billion dollars in January, with 42 provinces increasing their exports.
