Increase in China’s Foreign Exchange Reserves

China’s foreign exchange reserves reached $3.23 trillion in February. The State Administration of Foreign Exchange of China disclosed the data on foreign exchange reserves for the February 2025 period. According to the announcement, the country’s foreign exchange reserves saw an increase of $18.2 billion at the end of February compared to the previous month. With a 0.57% increase compared to January, the total value of reserves reached $3.23 trillion. The statement highlighted that in February, the US dollar index fell, while global financial assets prices remained mixed, emphasizing that the increase in foreign exchange reserves was attributed to the compound effect of exchange transactions and changes in asset prices. China’s foreign exchange reserves have been above $3.2 trillion for the past 15 months.
