Illegal betting investigation: PayFix, Aypara, and Ininal operations suspended

The Central Bank has suspended the operating permits of PayFix, Aypara, and Ininal, which were mentioned in the illegal betting investigation. The owner of PayFix, determined to be established with betting income, Erkan Kork, was arrested.
Actions have been taken for the three payment institutions mentioned in the illegal betting investigation. An announcement from the Central Bank stated that the operating permits of PayFix, Aypara, and Ininal have all been suspended. The statement mentioned, “It has been deemed beneficial to inform the public regarding the investigation conducted by judicial authorities on companies including PayFix Electronic Money and Payment Services Inc. supervised and regulated by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.” The statement also mentioned that Erkan Kork, the owner of PayFix, was arrested.
As part of the investigation, 21 people, including Erkan Kork, the owner of Pozitifbank, PayFix, and Flash TV, were arrested. A raid was conducted against 59 suspects, and assets worth 6.9 billion TL were seized. Pozitifbank, Flash TV, and PayFix also came under state control. Establishment of PayFix with betting income
According to the prosecution investigation, Erkan Kork entered the finance sector in 2014 with the Troyin Informatics company. He established the payment institution named PayFix with illegal betting revenues. Using PayFix’s financial infrastructure, illegal betting barons’ money was laundered. MASAK and Central Bank reports identified 80,011 different sets of money transfers in the PayFix system, involving a total of 211,109 accounts. Reports reflected that out of these accounts, 855 were connected to illegal betting transactions.
