The government support for electricity bills was discontinued as of February 1st for those in the high consumption group. Hacı Ali Ulutaş, Deputy President of EPDK, discussed the impact of electric household appliances on bills with NTV. According to the regulation put into effect on February 1st in electricity bills; residential subscribers exceeding monthly consumption of 417 kilowatt-hours cannot benefit from government support. Whether one benefits from state aid on bills can be checked on the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) website. Hacı Ali Ulutaş, Deputy President of EPDK, speaking to NTV, stated, “Let’s check the bill for our citizens whose consumption is below 5,000 kilowatt-hours. We click on the retail sales tariff. The average consumption of households nationwide is 166 kilowatt-hours, equivalent to 344 Turkish Liras. 60% of this amount is a subsidized bill.” How do HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES AFFECT BILLS? Ulutaş pointed out that the necessary devices account for about 183 kilowatt-hours of monthly consumption, with refrigerators at 16%, irons at 14%, dishwashers at 5%, and washing machines at 3%. Ulutaş also highlighted that these percentages may vary depending on usage. IMPACT OF VEHICLE CHARGING ON LIMITS Hacı Ali Ulutaş, Deputy President of EPDK, also discussed electric vehicles separately. Ulutaş stated, “Under normal circumstances, you can expect the charging of electric cars to affect your electricity consumption as an increase in the bill. For a change in the limit, there will not be an impact on normal households, as the possibility of charging is limited. However, if you live in a detached house and charge your electric car, the consumption of the car you charge will have an impact within the normal consumption.”
