The Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, announced that Home Care Assistance payments have started being deposited into accounts. In a written statement, Minister Göktaş recalled that Home Care Assistance was initiated in 2006 with the idea of primarily supporting individuals with disabilities within their families. Providing information that a monthly payment of 10,125 liras per eligible beneficiary is made under the Home Care Assistance program, Göktaş noted, “This month we have started depositing a total of 5.4 billion liras in Home Care Assistance payments into accounts for fully dependent citizens and their families being cared for at home. An average of 544,000 citizens benefit from the Home Care Assistance monthly. I wish all our disabled citizens and their families good luck with the payments. As the Ministry, we will continue our efforts to ensure that rights-based social assistance in the field of disability is transparent and sustainable.”

CRITERIA FOR HOME CARE ALLOWANCE ELIGIBILITY: The average monthly income per person must be less than 2/3 of the net monthly amount of the minimum wage. Additionally, for individuals over the age of 18, the condition of being deemed “severely disabled” or “fully dependent” in the disabled health board report is required.
