Heavy fine for excessive bus ticket

During the holiday, administrative actions amounting to 37.4 million lira were imposed on businesses selling excessive bus tickets and engaging in pirate transportation. A total of 63,113 bus trips were inspected during this period. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a statement regarding the measures and inspections taken on intercity buses during the Ramadan holiday. Uraloğlu noted that they carried out inspections to prevent the sale of overpriced tickets on intercity buses continuously during the Ramadan holiday, emphasizing that operators not complying with the reported fare schedules were individually examined and subjected to necessary administrative fines. “INSPECTION OF 63 THOUSAND BUS TRIPS” Minister Uraloğlu underscored the collaboration between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure teams and law enforcement in their efforts, stating: “Before the holiday and throughout the holiday, in addition to electronic inspections made via the U-ETDS system for intercity bus trips, we inspected 2,377 businesses and 63,113 bus trips primarily for overpriced ticket sales, pirate, and unauthorized transportation at passenger terminals, roadsides, and highway inspection stations.” 37.4 MILLION LIRA FINE Minister Uraloğlu mentioned a significant density in intercity bus trips during the Ramadan holiday, stating, “Between March 10 and April 6, 8,347 procedures resulted in an administrative fine totaling 37,400,120 lira for bus operators.” Minister Uraloğlu also pointed out that the inspections were not limited to the holiday period, saying, “In order to prevent overpriced ticket sales and ensure order in passenger transportation, our bus inspections continue effectively nationwide.”
