Beginning the day around $2,919, the price of an ounce of gold traded within a limited band range, finding support from global trade uncertainties and the depreciation of the US dollar. On February 24th, gold reached a record of $2,956 per ounce. Gram and quarter gold prices also moved in parallel to the price of an ounce. A gram of gold changed hands at 3,419 Turkish Liras, while a quarter of gold was priced at 5,608 Turkish Liras. President Donald Trump granted a temporary exemption to US automakers from the 25% tariff imposed on Canada and Mexico. Furthermore, it was reported that new exemptions for sectors negatively affected by comprehensive import duties, including agriculture, are being considered. The Beige Book report from the Federal Reserve revealed that businesses are concerned about uncertainties surrounding new policies implemented by the Trump administration, particularly tariffs. Markets are closely monitoring US employment data this week. Private sector job growth in the country plummeted to its lowest level in seven months, confirming a slowdown in the labor market and strengthening expectations for a rate cut.
