Export of Turkish salmon worth 8.6 million dollars from the Eastern Black Sea

In the January-February period, Turkish salmon exports from the Eastern Black Sea region generated revenue of 8,644,938 dollars. Ismail Kobya, Chairman of the Fisheries Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, stated that 1234 tons of Turkish salmon were exported from the region in 2 months. Kobya emphasized that the mentioned export resulted in a profit of 8,644,938 dollars, noting that Turkish salmon was exported to 7 countries during this period. Pointing out that the Russian Federation ranked first in Turkish salmon exports from the Eastern Black Sea in the January-February period, Kobya continued: “Exports of 7,356,555 dollars were made from our region to the Russian Federation. Belarus followed with 460,147 dollars and Vietnam with 308,254 dollars. Additionally, Turkish salmon was also sold to Japan, Canada, Ukraine, and Georgia from the region during this period.” Kobya mentioned that 92% of the exports were made from Trabzon, with 1132 tons of Turkish salmon exported from the city to 5 countries during the specified period. Kobya highlighted that 7,964,820 dollars in profit was obtained from this export, and reported that the Russian Federation, Belarus, and Japan were the top 3 countries where Turkish salmon was exported the most. Kobya indicated high expectations for Turkish salmon and stated that they are working diligently to increase Turkish salmon exports.
