Era of free internet at train stations

Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Mr. Uraloğlu announced the start of free internet service at 63 train stations and terminals. Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, reported that free internet service has begun at train stations and terminals owned by the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD). Pointing out that this service was initially implemented on high-speed train (YHT) lines in Ankara, Uraloğlu stated, “Free Wi-Fi service is offered at 63 different terminals and stations located in strategic places like Istanbul, Eskişehir, Konya, Sivas, Malatya, Kars, Erzincan, Batman, Mardin, Diyarbakır, and Van.” The aim, as stated by Uraloğlu, is to provide citizens with a more comfortable, modern, and efficient travel experience. He remarked, “The Wi-Fi service has provided daily access to an average of 2,576 users, with 124,713 citizens benefiting from this service so far. Internet access in public spaces is now a basic need. In line with this, the free Wi-Fi service we offer at TCDD’s terminals and stations is making our citizens’ lives easier as part of our digitalization vision.” Uraloğlu noted that with this service, business people can continue their work while traveling and passengers can effectively utilize their waiting times.
