Elon Musk Sets His Sights on Gold Reserves

Billionaire Elon Musk hinted that they could oversee the gold reserves stored in Fort Knox, which holds 147 million ounces of gold.
At the helm of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), billionaire Elon Musk signaled his potential oversight of the gold reserves stored in Fort Knox. Musk, in a post on the social media platform X, used the phrase “Searching for gold in Fort Knox.” He also quoted a post by Utah Senator Mike Lee, which stated that entry to Fort Knox was blocked, asking, “Who is confirming that gold hasn’t been stolen from Fort Knox? Maybe it’s there, maybe it’s not. That gold belongs to the American people. We want to know if it’s still there.” Additionally, Musk mentioned in another post that it would be great to conduct a live video tour of Fort Knox. Furthermore, over the weekend, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul called on Musk to examine the gold reserves at Fort Knox.
There is a total of 147 million ounces of gold stored in Fort Knox, according to information on the US Treasury Department’s website. Nearly half of the precious metal reserves stored by the US Treasury are in Fort Knox, with the current gold holdings recorded at 147.3 million ounces.
