DASK Mandatory Earthquake Insurance coverage and premium amounts increased

DASK Mandatory Earthquake Insurance has increased its maximum coverage amount and minimum premium amounts. The Insurance and Private Pension Regulatory and Supervisory Authority made changes to the mandatory earthquake insurance tariff and instruction communiqué. WHAT IS THE COVERAGE AMOUNT OF MANDATORY EARTHQUAKE INSURANCE? According to the communiqué published in the Official Gazette, the maximum coverage amount for a dwelling under Mandatory Earthquake Insurance has been raised from 1,272,000 TL to 1,704,162 TL. WHAT ARE THE PREMIUM AMOUNTS OF MANDATORY EARTHQUAKE INSURANCE? According to the regulation published in the Official Gazette, updates were made to the minimum premium amounts for Mandatory Earthquake Insurance. They were revised in a manner not less than 1,441 TL, 1,283 TL, 1,092 TL, 1,024 TL, 765 TL, 546 TL, and 371 TL successively from risk group one to risk group seven. The square meter value used in the insurance amount calculation has been set at 8,039 TL for reinforced concrete dwellings and 5,359 TL for other dwellings. Furthermore, the fixed amounts in the communiqué will be increased and applied based on the monthly change rate of the 2003=100 Base Year Domestic Producer Price Index announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) in the previous month. If the announced rate is below zero, it will be considered as zero. When there are decimals in the calculated amounts, they will be rounded up.
