Crucial Day in Wage Negotiations for Public Workers

Today, an important meeting is scheduled for the wage negotiations of nearly 600 thousand public workers. It is expected that the employer side, TÜHİS, will communicate the first wage demand to public workers.
After presenting the joint wage proposal prepared by HAK-İş and Türk-İş to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on February 25, attention turned to the employer side, namely TÜHİS. TÜHİS representatives working on the workers’ proposal will meet with HAK-İş and Türk-İş at 14:00.
During the meeting hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, it is anticipated that TÜHİS, representing public employers, will present their initial wage proposal to the worker side.
WHAT ARE THE DEMANDS OF PUBLIC WORKERS? Public workers are demanding that the minimum daily wage be raised to 1800 liras. Following this increase, a 50% wage raise is requested for the first six months of 2025.
For the other six-month periods, a 25% raise is requested along with an additional 10% welfare bonus.
