Central Bank Reserves Decline

During the week ending on February 28, Central Bank reserves decreased by $4,578 million, falling to $165.4 billion. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) released its weekly money and banking statistics. As of February 28, the CBRT’s gross foreign exchange reserves dropped by $2,941 million to $94.757 billion. Gross foreign exchange reserves stood at $97.698 billion on February 21. During this period, gold reserves also declined by $1,638 million, decreasing from $72.297 billion to $70.659 billion. Therefore, the total reserves of the Central Bank decreased from $169.995 billion to $165.417 billion during the week ending on February 28, representing a decrease of $4.578 million compared to the previous week.
