Central Bank Reserves Approach All-Time High

The total reserves of the Central Bank increased by $1.517 billion last week, nearing a record level of $167.492 billion.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced its weekly money and banking statistics. As of February 7th, the Central Bank’s gross foreign currency reserves decreased by $382 million to $96.929 billion. The gross foreign currency reserves were at $97.311 billion on January 31st. Meanwhile, gold reserves increased by $1.899 billion, rising from $68.664 billion to $70.563 billion. Consequently, the Central Bank’s total reserves increased from $165.975 billion to $167.492 billion in the week of February 7th, showing a $1.517 billion rise compared to the previous week.
The reserves had reached a record level of $167.560 billion in the week of January 24th.
