The Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant and Mining Site in Nallıhan district of Ankara was won by Akçadağ Construction Energy Mining Joint Stock Company with a bid of 20 billion liras.

Since November 20, 2024, when the workers staged a protest, the Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant and Mining Site have been privatized.

Five companies participated in the auction conducted by the Privatization Administration. In the first round conducted through closed bidding, the highest bid was 13 billion 50 million liras.

In the second round conducted through closed bidding, the company offering the lowest bid was eliminated.

The auction, which started at 15 billion 600 million liras, concluded with Akçadağ Construction Energy Mining Joint Stock Company winning the bid at 20 billion liras.

The company’s board chairman Furkan Akçadağ stated, “We have pledged that the employment of all our colleagues there will continue and that the number of employees may even increase.”
