Calculation of Retirement Holiday Bonus Increase in 2025: How much will the Ramadan retirement holiday bonuses be?

Retirees from SSK, Bağ-Kur, and the Retirement Fund, along with other beneficiaries, have shifted their focus to bonus increases as Ramadan approaches. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, had announced that work would be done on bonus payments. Bonus payments will be deposited into accounts through banks where pensions are received. This year, the Ramadan holiday will start at the end of March, with bonuses expected to be deposited into accounts one week earlier. Calculations for retirement holiday bonuses have been made based on possible rate increases. So, how much will retirement holiday bonuses be in 2025? Here are the latest developments on the increase of Ramadan retirement holiday bonuses…Ramadan holiday will begin this year on March 30th. Before the 3-day holiday, retirees’ bonus payments will be transferred to their accounts. Last year, bonuses were increased by 50% to reach 3,000 liras. Retirement bonuses are paid before both Ramadan and Eid al-Adha holidays. While the increase for SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund retirees in January was 15.75%, retirees are focusing on the bonus rate increases. Due to the previous single annual increase in retirement bonuses, an increase of more than 15.75% is expected. Calculations were made for possible bonus rate increases of 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%. Here are the calculations for retirement holiday bonus increases…Retirement holiday bonuses have started to be deposited into accounts at least 1 week before the holiday in previous years. This year, retirement bonuses are expected to be deposited into accounts between March 24-28, 2025. Retirement holiday bonuses will be deposited through banks depending on the last digit of the allocation number.Retirement holiday bonuses are expected to increase by more than 15%, and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance continues to work on bonus increases. A specific figure for the rate increase has not yet been disclosed by officials. After the rate increase is determined, the bonus will be discussed in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and, upon approval, will come into effect with the signature of President Erdoğan.If an increase of 15.75% (the rate hike made in January for retirees) is applied, retirement holiday bonuses will be 3,472 liras. Considering inflation, if a similar increase to last year (2024) is made, bonuses will be increased by 50% to reach 4,500 liras. If there is a 40% increase, bonuses will rise by 1,200 liras to reach 4,200 liras. The exact rate increases will be determined after the completion of the study. In addition to retirees from SSK, Bağ-Kur, and the Retirement Fund, new retirees who qualify for retirement before the holiday will also receive bonuses. Those receiving old-age pensions can receive bonuses, while those receiving widow and orphan pensions will benefit from payments based on the share ratio they are entitled to. For example, those who receive 70% of the retirement bonus from the widow’s pension will receive a corresponding bonus, while those receiving 30% as death benefit will benefit from the bonus based on this share. Bonuses will be paid to beneficiaries of disability pension, disability pension, death benefit, continuous incapacity income, families of martyrs, veterans, combat veterans, security guards, champion athletes, and civilians affected by terrorism.
