Calculation of 2025 Retiree Bonuses for Ramadan Bayramı: How Much Will the Retirement Holiday Bonus Be?

The countdown has started for retiree holiday bonuses. While Ramadan will start on March 1st, the holiday will be on March 29th. Retiree bonuses will be paid to SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund retirees. Last year, bonuses were increased by 50% and reached 3,000 liras. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, had mentioned that a study would be conducted regarding the increase in bonuses. Possible rate increases were considered for bonus calculations. Widows, orphans receiving pension, champion athletes, martyr families, veterans, and many other beneficiaries will benefit from the bonuses. So, how much will the Retirement Holiday Bonuses be in 2025? Here is the calculation for retiree holiday bonuses…This year, Ramadan Bayramı will start on March 30th. Before the 3-day holiday, retiree bonus payments will be transferred to the accounts. Last year, bonuses were increased by 50% to 3,000 liras. Retiree bonuses are deposited before both Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. The increase made in January for SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund retirees was 15.75%, and retirees are focusing on bonus rate increases. Since there has been only one increase per year in retiree bonuses, it is expected that the bonuses will increase by more than 15.75%. Calculations were made individually based on possible rate increases of 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%. Here are the calculations for the Retirement Holiday Bonus increases…In previous years, retiree holiday bonuses were deposited into accounts at least a week before the holiday. This year, retiree bonuses are expected to be deposited into accounts between March 24-28, 2025. Retiree holiday bonuses will be deposited through banks from which salaries are received, based on the last digit of the allocation number.An increase of over 15% is expected in retiree holiday bonuses, while the Ministry of Treasury and Finance continues its work on bonus rate increases. A specific number for the rate increase has not yet been announced by officials. After the rate increase is determined, the bonus will be discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and will come into effect with the signature of President Erdoğan.If there is an increase of 15.75% in the January increase rate for retirees, retirement holiday bonuses will be 3,472 liras. Taking inflation into account, if there is a similar increase to last year (2024), bonuses will be increased by 50% and rise to 4,500 liras. In the case of a 40% increase, bonuses will increase by 1,200 liras to 4,200 liras. The exact rate increases will be determined after the study is completed.New retirees who are entitled to retire before the holiday, along with SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund retirees, will receive bonuses. Those receiving old-age pensions can receive bonuses, while those receiving widows’ and orphans’ pensions will benefit from the payments according to their share. For example, those who receive 70% of the retiree bonus from a widow’s pension will receive the bonus at that rate, and those who receive 30% as death benefits will benefit from the bonus according to this share. Bonuses will be paid to those receiving duty disability pension, disability pension, death pension, permanent disability income, martyr families, veterans, combat veterans, security guards, champion athletes, and civilian citizens affected by terrorism.
