The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has imposed a fine of 2 million 6 thousand 31 lira on Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration (BUSKİ) for violations in wastewater facilities. According to the announcement from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, an inspection was carried out at BUSKİ’s Mudanya Wastewater Treatment Plant. The analysis of wastewater samples during the inspection revealed that they exceeded the limit values specified in environmental legislation. As the same violation had occurred in 2022, a double penalty was imposed, resulting in an administrative fine of 1 million 337 thousand 354 lira on BUSKİ General Directorate. In the inspection of BUSKİ’s Orhangazi Wastewater Treatment Plant, it was found that the wastewater exceeded the limit values. An additional administrative fine of 668 thousand 677 lira was imposed on BUSKİ in accordance with the Environmental Law.
