Bus tickets running out: 3.5 million people going on holiday

The upcoming Ramadan holiday will see 8,000 bus trips per day. With the school break adding up to a total of 9 days, it is expected that 3.5 million people will travel during this period.

The countdown to the Ramadan holiday has begun. Mustafa Yıldırım, the President of the Federation of All Bus Companies, provided information about bus trips. Due to this year’s school break coinciding with the Ramadan holiday of the 2024-2025 academic year, covering a 9-day period, Yıldırım pointed out that starting from the middle of this week, there will be a peak in bus trips during the holiday. Yıldırım mentioned that tickets are running out for normal trips and stated, “Movement in buses during the Ramadan holiday, which will start on March 27, will peak on the return trips on April 6-7. If there is demand from bus companies, we will apply to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for the use of tourist vehicles for passenger transportation.”

8,000 TRIPS WILL BE ORGANIZED Yıldırım emphasized that there are currently around 8,000 bus trips per day nationwide, stating, “During the Ramadan holiday, approximately 8,500 buses will carry passengers per day.”

Yıldırım said that they expect approximately 3.5 million people to travel by bus during the 9-day holiday.

Yıldırım also indicated that there will be no price increase in bus tickets and added that the base price determined by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will be applied.
