BP to Sell Stake in TANAP

Energy company BP announced that they will sell their 25% stake in the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) to Apollo for 1 billion dollars. Apollo Funds will establish a partnership with BP on TANAP, which is part of the Southern Gas Corridor. According to BP’s statement, Apollo will acquire the non-controlling 25% share in BP Pipelines (TANAP) Limited for approximately 1 billion dollars. The agreement, which is a continuation of the partnership between BP and Apollo established last year for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the final section of the Southern Gas Corridor, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of the year. BP will continue to hold the majority stake in BP Pipelines (TANAP) Limited and will safeguard its long-term commercial and strategic interests, including management rights over the pipeline. TANAP is comprised of a 51% stake held by the Southern Gas Corridor Company-SGC, 30% by Botas, 12% by BP Pipelines (TANAP) Limited, and 7% by SOCAR Turkey Energy A.S.
