The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul opened the day with a 0.83% decrease at 9,399 points. The selling pressure in global markets is also impacting Borsa Istanbul. At the opening, the BIST 100 index dropped to 9,398.73 points, a decrease of 78.41 points and 0.83% from the previous close. The banking index lost 1.06%, while the holding index decreased by 0.53%. Among the sector indices, the only gainer was investment trust with 0.77%, while the metal main industry was the biggest loser with a 1.10% drop. Yesterday, Borsa Istanbul followed a buying-dominated trend, with the BIST 100 index closing the day at 9,477.14 points with a 0.74% increase. Uncertainty about the course of the economic tension between China and the US increased in global markets following the latest customs duty move by the US administration towards China. Investor focus today is on news related to tariffs and the release of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes by the US Federal Reserve. Analysts noted that the domestic data agenda is calm today, while investors will be tracking the Fed meeting minutes and US wholesale inventory data internationally. From a technical perspective, the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,500 and 9,600 points, with support at the 9,400 and 9,300 levels.
