BİM Appeals Against 1.3 Billion Lira Fine

BİM has filed an appeal with the Competition Authority for the 1.3 billion lira competition fine.

BİM has officially initiated the appeal process for the 1.3 billion lira record fine. In a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) from the company, it was reported that an appeal petition was submitted to the Competition Authority Presidency with the request to rescind the 1.3 billion lira fine.

REASON FOR THE HISTORIC FINE IS DATA DELETION The Competition Authority imposed a 1.3 billion lira fine on BİM after it was determined that an employee at the management level had deleted data from a work device.

The Authority stated that on-the-spot inspections were hindered and made more difficult.

BİM: UNFAIR FINE

In the initial statement made by BİM, it was claimed that the fine was unfair and there was no action that warranted a fine.

The company claimed that the employee who deleted the messaging application conversations on their personal phone did not hold a position that would influence company decisions and that the conversations were retrieved.
