Approaching the End of a $3.5 Billion Investment

The artificial intelligence company Anthropic is nearing the end of a $3.5 billion investment round. Following the funding round, the company’s value will rise to $61.5 billion with backing from Google and Amazon. Anthropic, a leading artificial intelligence initiative, is close to concluding its new funding round, aiming to secure $3.5 billion from investors. This move will increase its valuation to $61.5 billion post-funding. According to The Wall Street Journal, Anthropic initially aimed to raise $2 billion in the investment round but succeeded in increasing the amount during negotiations. Among the company’s investors are expected to be Lightspeed Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and MGX from Abu Dhabi. Established in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, Anthropic stands out in the artificial intelligence sector by developing large language models. A key competitor to OpenAI, Anthropic recently released a new artificial intelligence model called Claude 3.7 Sonnet. This new model allows users to think and respond to questions for a specific period of time. Meanwhile, Anthropic’s competitors are also advancing their work. Elon Musk’s AI company xAI is reportedly in talks for a $10 billion investment round, while OpenAI is expecting a $40 billion investment.
