Additional Train Services to be Provided for Eid al-Fitr

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that additional train services will be organized for Eid al-Fitr to meet the passenger demand.
Minister Uraloğlu stated that additional train services will increase the capacity by 12,786 passengers to accommodate the increased demand during Eid al-Fitr. In a written statement, he mentioned that additional high-speed train services will be arranged on the Ankara-Istanbul-Ankara route during the festive period. Uraloğlu also indicated that 6 more services will be added to the trains. He stated, “To meet the increased travel demand during the holiday, we will organize additional high-speed train services between Ankara and Istanbul on March 28-29 and April 1. Trains will depart from Ankara at 09:40 and from Istanbul-Söğütlüçeşme at 18:00, providing a total of 2,466 additional seat capacity for 3 days.” Uraloğlu also mentioned an increase in capacity for mainline and regional trains, where additional cars will be added to increase capacity from March 27 to April 1.
The Minister announced that a total of 172 cars will be added to trains such as İzmir Mavi Ekspresi, Doğu Ekspresi, Güney/Vangölü Ekspresi, Konya Mavi Ekspresi, Ege Ekspresi, Erciyes Ekspresi, 6 Eylül Ekspresi, 17 Eylül Ekspresi, Pamukkale Ekspresi, Ankara Ekspresi, Uzunköprü-Halkalı Regional Train, and Edirne-Halkalı Regional Train to increase the capacity by 10,320 seats. Uraloğlu mentioned, “With the additional high-speed train services and added cars to mainline and regional trains, we will provide an additional capacity increase of 12,786 seats.”
