The Turkey Retirees Association has launched the “Emek Pazarı” platform for retirees. On this online shopping platform, retirees will be able to sell products they have produced. There will be no shipping fee for products directly sourced from producers.

The Turkey Retirees Association (TÜED) established the Emek Pazarı, a digital marketplace, to prevent retirees from being affected by high prices and to enable them to shop more affordably. TÜED President Kâzım Ergün stated that there will be no shipping fee for purchases delivered directly to retirees’ doors. Ergün said, “In this way, as retirees, we will boycott excessive price increases.” Individuals, retirees, and all citizens who wish to shop at reasonable prices will be able to do so on the digital marketplace. Members of the association will be provided with higher discounts.

DIRECT SOURCING FROM PRODUCERS According to a report in Turkey’s Gazete, a variety of products including food, clothing, cosmetics, technology, and more will be directly sourced from producer companies at the marketplace. The Emek Pazarı can be accessed through the TÜED website or emekpazari.com.tr. The Emek Pazarı application can be downloaded to mobile phones from the App Store and Google Play. Membership will be required to access the platform. Retiree members of TÜED can use their ID numbers as usernames and the last 6 digits of their ID numbers as passwords.

FOCUS ON LOCAL PRODUCTS Ergün announced that local producers will be predominantly supported in the project, with a focus on natural and organic products. Emphasizing that vacation opportunities and all other products and services will be offered to consumers without intermediary firms, Ergün stated that discount campaigns will ensure that retirees are not affected by exorbitant prices.
