Claim of Limit on Market Usage of Food Cards: Ministry Sources Deny

Allegations were made that there is a limit on using food cards at markets. Sources from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance denied this claim. Reports in the media stated that there would be a daily spending limit of 158 liras on food cards at markets, with a total limit of 3,476 liras. Ministry sources announced that there has never been a 158 lira limit in tax legislation. It was clarified that previous regulations on the matter were not related to employees’ card usage but rather technical issues concerning employers’ tax payments. It was emphasized that there are no monthly or daily limits on shopping.
