The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul dropped by 0.26 percent in the first half of the day, falling to 9,372 points. Moving with a downward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index decreased to 9,372 points by 24.36 points and 0.26 percent compared to the previous close as of 13:00. The total transaction volume was 33.3 billion lira. The banking index lost 0.58 percent, while the holding index decreased by 0.25 percent. Among the sector indices, mining was the highest gainer with 0.85 percent, while forestry and paper printing was the biggest loser with 1.43 percent. The negotiation process on the reciprocal basis of the tariffs imposed by the US has increased optimism in global markets, while markets in the US and Europe will be closed today due to a holiday. Analysts pointed out that today’s data agenda will be calm both domestically and internationally, noting that technically the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,300 and 9,200, with resistance at 9,450 and 9,550 points.
