Discovery of 11 Tons of Moldy and Infested Walnuts for Baklava
In Sanliurfa, 11 tons of moldy and infested walnut kernels prepared for baklava production were discovered. According to a statement from the Eyyubiye Municipality, an inspection was carried out by the Municipal Directorate and the Agriculture and Forestry District Directorate at a factory producing baklava in the Organized Industrial Zone. During the inspection, 11 tons of moldy and infested walnut kernels were found inside boxes. The walnut kernels were seized for destruction, and legal proceedings were initiated against the owners of the facility.
