Ankara sees $3.5 billion in exports in the first quarter

In the first quarter of 2025, exports worth $3.5 billion were made from Ankara.
While $3.5 billion in exports were realized in the first quarter of this year from Ankara, China was the country with the highest external sales at $245 million.
According to information compiled from the Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly data, Turkey signed exports of $23.385 billion in March and $65.306 billion in the January-March period.
In the January-March period, exports from Ankara increased by 18.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $3.491 billion. External sales worth $2.953 billion were made from the capital in the same period last year.
When the distribution of exports from Ankara to countries is examined, China topped the list. In this period, exports worth $245.091 million were made to China.
This country was followed by Germany with $235.969 million, the USA with $227.542 million, Bulgaria with $194.929 million, and Iraq with $152.545 million.
CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES AND PRODUCTS LEAD IN SALES
When the distribution of exports from Ankara by sectors is examined, it is seen that “chemical substances and products” is the sector with the highest sales. The sector’s exports were $383.608 million in the January-March period. This sector was followed by the “automotive industry” with $363.595 million and “machinery and accessories” with $346.186 million.
The sector that saw the highest percentage increase in exports in this period was “ship, yacht, and services” with 198.4%. This sector was followed by “cereals, pulses, oilseeds, and their products” with a 91% increase.
