The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week with a 0.26% increase, reaching 10,869.00 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose to 10,869.00 points with an increase of 28.41 points and 0.26% compared to the previous closing. The banking index gained 0.21% while the holding index rose by 0.72%. In terms of sector indices, construction had the highest gain with 1.10%, while mining was the biggest loser with a decline of 1.78%. On Friday, the BIST 100 index, which had a buying trend domestically, closed the day with a 1.05% increase at 10,840.59 points. In the global markets, data indicating that inflation remains under control in the US and China’s new economic stimulus measures are leading to a positive outlook. Additionally, it was decided that the uptick rule for short selling transactions would be implemented for one day in listed shares on the BIST 50 index in today’s session. Analysts mentioned that the budget balance domestically and retail sales in the US along with the New York Fed manufacturing index would be closely monitored today. They noted that technically, the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 10,900 and 11,000 points while the support levels are at 10,800 and 10,700.
