The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure tested the 5G technology in Turkey for the first time at RAMS Park. The match between Galatasaray and AZ Alkmaar became the first game to utilize 5G technology. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced through social media, “After Istanbul Airport and 33 production facilities, 5G can now be experienced in stadiums. We continue our efforts to rapidly expand it throughout Turkey.” Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that transitioning to 5G will enable faster internet usage, stating, “5G will bring many benefits, from the use of robots in production points to remotely controlling some machines. We will hold the auction this year, and by 2026, we will have transitioned to 5G nationwide in Turkey. We are also conducting tests in stadiums, with the match between Galatasaray and AZ Alkmaar tonight marking the first trial of 5G in a stadium.”
