8.4 Million Vehicles Passed through Highways During the Feast

During the Ramadan Feast, a total of 8,425,491 vehicles passed through the highways. The passenger count at Istanbul Airport during these dates rose from 842,367 to 892,810. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, shared the travel data by road during the Ramadan Feast period. In a written statement, Minister Uraloğlu noted that a total of 8,425,491 vehicles passed through the highways from March 29 to April 1, including the eve of the feast. According to the data, the passenger count at Istanbul Airport increased from 842,367 during the 2024 Ramadan Feast to 892,810 this year. On the eve of the feast and during the Ramadan Feast, the highways under the General Directorate of Highways, Fatih Sultan Mehmet, and the July 15 Martyrs Bridge provided free services based on a Presidential decree. During these dates, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge was used by 1,025,593 vehicles, while the July 15 Martyrs Bridge had 810,676 vehicles passing through. This year, the North Marmara Motorway saw 1,396,404 vehicles utilizing it, compared to 1,207,436 vehicles passing through last year. Between March 29 and April 1, 2025, there were 50,582 vehicle passages on the 1915 Canakkale Bridge and 303,569 vehicle passages on the Osmangazi Bridge. Marmaray carried 77,167 more passengers compared to the 2024 Ramadan Feast, reaching a total passenger count of 2,156,902. Between March 26 and April 1, bus companies providing intercity passenger transportation carried 2,418,407 passengers on 70,627 routes.
