25% Increase in Electricity Prices for Residential Subscribers

A 25% increase was implemented for residential subscribers in electricity, 15% for public and private services, 10% for industry, and 12.4% for agricultural activities. There was no change for residential subscribers in natural gas prices. According to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), a 25% increase was put in place for residential subscribers in electricity. The new tariffs will be effective from April 5, 2025. The announcement from EMRA stated: “Due to the increase in electricity production and distribution costs, final retail electricity prices have been increased by 25% for the residential subscriber group, 15% for the public and private services sector group, 10% for the industry subscriber group, and 12.4% for agricultural activities subscriber group. With this increase, the amount payable for a residential subscriber with 100 kWh electricity consumption has reached 259.04 TL. Additionally, based on the wholesale natural gas prices announced on BOTAŞ’s website: there is an average increase of 20% for industrial consumers in final natural gas sales prices, and an average increase of 24.2% for electricity generation plants. The tariffs will be valid as of April 5, 2025. Respectfully announced to the public.”
