The number of account holders with 1 million lira or more in February exceeded the 2024 year-end by 115,871, with total deposits amounting to 15 trillion 494 billion 773 million lira. According to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) data, the number of individuals, both resident and non-resident, with 1 million lira or more in their accounts reached 2,123,799 by February 2025. The number of account holders with over 1 million lira, which was 2,007,928 at the end of 2024, increased by 115,871 in two months. The total deposits of these account holders reached 15 trillion 494 billion 773 million lira by the end of February. Consequently, the average deposit per account holder was calculated as 7 million 295.8 thousand lira. The total deposits of these account holders, which stood at 14 trillion 786 billion 648 million lira in December 2024, recorded an increase of 708 billion 125 million lira by year-end. In February, the deposits of domestic account holders with over 1 million lira consisted of 9 trillion 764 billion 676 million lira in local currency, 3 trillion 721 billion 832 million lira in foreign currency deposits, and 870 billion 235 million lira in precious metal deposit accounts. Thus, the total deposits of domestic account holders reached 14 trillion 356 billion 744 million lira. The average deposit per resident account holder was calculated as 7 million 402.7 thousand lira.

INCREASE AMONG NON-RESIDENTS
According to BDDK data, the number of non-resident account holders with 1 million lira or more in their accounts reached 184,400 by February. This represented an increase of 5,406 individuals compared to December, with their total deposit increasing by 23 billion 704 million lira. Non-resident account holders’ bank deposits consisted of 404 billion 547 million lira in local currency, 699 billion 75 million lira in foreign currency, and 34 billion 407 million lira in precious metal deposit accounts. Therefore, the total deposits of non-resident account holders reached 1 trillion 138 billion 29 million lira. The average deposit per non-resident account holder was calculated as 6 million 171.5 thousand lira.
